Family Carers
At IHCM, we recognise the invaluable role that families, carers and those closest to the people we support play in recovery, wellbeing and achieving positive outcomes. We believe that good communication and strong partnerships help us deliver the highest quality care.
Working in Partnership with Families and Carers
At IHCM, we recognise the invaluable role that families, carers and those closest to the people we support play in recovery, wellbeing and achieving positive outcomes. We believe that good communication and strong partnerships help us deliver the highest quality care.
Each of our providers and services develops its own relationships with families and carers, recognising that every service and every individual is different. This may include regular family forums, newsletters, meetings, care reviews, open days and other opportunities to share information, listen to feedback and encourage meaningful involvement in the life of the service. Wherever appropriate, and with the individual’s consent, families and carers are encouraged to contribute to care planning and ongoing reviews.
We are committed to treating everyone with dignity, respect and compassion, while ensuring the people we support remain at the centre of decisions about their care. We value the views of families and carers and believe their feedback plays an important role in helping us continually improve our services.
Our Commitment
We are committed to providing safe, high-quality, person-centred care and to working openly and honestly with the people we support, their families and carers. We welcome feedback, whether it is a compliment about something we have done well, a suggestion for improvement or a concern that requires our attention.
Compliments, Concerns and Complaints
If you have a compliment, concern or complaint, we encourage you to speak with the service in the first instance, where our teams will always aim to resolve matters quickly and sensitively.
If you feel your concern has not been resolved, or you would prefer to contact us directly, our central team is here to help. Every concern and complaint is taken seriously, investigated fairly and responded to openly. We also welcome compliments and positive feedback, which help us recognise the dedication of our colleagues and share good practice across our services.
